Senior Project Manager - Central London

We are partnered with a leading fit out and refurbishment contractor operating in key sectors looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager. As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of projects within the organisation and take full ownership and responsibility of all elements of the project management process from inception through to implementation, delivery, and final sign off. Working with the rest of the project team, all projects are required to be driven through and in accordance with agreed timescales, budget, and the required quality levels. Health and safety are always regarded as the top priority and should not be compromised with a focus given to continual improvement in this area.    

Key Responsibilities & Requirements:      

  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables and develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.  

  • Work closely with architects, engineers, suppliers & subcontractors to ensure project requirements are clearly specified and understood.  

  • Oversee project execution to ensure the plans are followed according to specifications and quality standards.  

  • Manage resources effectively to meet project objectives including labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.  

  • Monitor the project development and adjust plans when necessary, according to priority to avoid delays and optimise project timelines.  

  • Verify and approve subcontractor & vendor invoices, change orders and other project related expenses.  

  • Identify project risk & develop strategies to avoid/minimise potential effects on project objectives.  

  • Take initiative to address issues and obstacles to keep projects on track and avoid disruptions.  

  • Present regular project updates, weekly status reports and performance measures to stakeholders ensuring transparency and alignment with project goals.  

  • Manage a system of effective communication and collaboration within the team to promote harmony and productivity within the working environment.  

  • Promote and ensure health and safety in the workplace, enforcing compliance with safety policies, procedures, and regulations.  

  • Ensure the successful handover of the building to the client, including the transfer of operational systems, final documentation, as-built records, and warranty information.  

  • Degree in Construction Management/ Engineering with extensive technical delivery experience in project management within construction. 

  • 5+ years’ experience in project management with focus in cut & carve refurbishment with structural alterations projects.  

  • CSCS, SMSTS/SSSTS & FIRST Aid training & qualifications is ideal.  

  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.  

  • Proficiency in project management software & tools.  

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise tasks effectively.  

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
